| El objetivo de esta investigación fue analizar comparativamente las representaciones sociales que estudiantes de licenciatura de diferentes instituciones y carreras elaboraron con respecto a la meritocracia en el sistema educativo. Para ello, se realizó un estudio mixto con 36 estudiantes de quinto semestre, consistente en una regresión logística para determinar las posibilidades de que expresen una actitud favorable hacia la meritocracia, y un análisis de contenido de entrevistas semi estructuradas para profundizar en las motivaciones y factores que contribuyeron a construir una representación sobre la meritocracia. Se encontró que las representaciones sociales están influenciadas por la pertenencia a cada carrera, y que variables que se consideraban significativas para la evaluación del mérito, como el sexo o el estrato socioeconómico, no lo fueron. En cambio, variables como la presencia de síntomas de depresión o la disposición a competir son relevantes para la evaluación de una actitud hacia la meritocracia. The objective of this research was to comparatively analyze the social representations that undergraduate students from different institutions and careers elaborated regarding meritocracy in the educational system. For this, a mixed study was carried out with 36 fifth-semester students, consisting of a logistic regression to determine the possibilities that they expressed a favorable attitude towards meritocracy, and a content analysis of semi-structured interviews to delve into the motivations and factors that contributed to building a representation on meritocracy. It was found that social representations are influenced by belonging to each career, and that variables that were considered significant for the evaluation of merit, such as gender or socioeconomic status, were not. On the other hand, variables such as the presence of depression symptoms or the willingness to compete are relevant for the evaluation of an attitude towards meritocracy. | |
