| Esta tesis da cuenta de la forma como las mujeres pereiranas, de clase media, entre veinte y cuarenta años, significan las representaciones sociales que históricamente se han construido sobre sus cuerpos y sexualidades. Para este propósito, el análisis no se centra en el estigma que les ha sido asignado como "mujeres fáciles" sino en la manera como esta representación informa sus procesos de subjetivación, reconociendo que cada mujer desde su posición particular (género, clase, etnia, edad, pertenencia territorial, etc.) los significa de forma diferencial.
Sus experiencias vitales se convierten en la principal fuente de conocimiento, pues son ellas mismas quienes pueden dar cuenta de los impactos de las representaciones desacreditantes en sus vidas cotidianas, así como de su agencia en los procesos de significación, que no se reducen a la mera reproducción de los estereotipos, pues también implican resistencias y rupturas frente a éstos.
La investigación permitió identificar que es posible transgredir los mandatos hegemónicos a través de las decisiones que a diario se toman con respecto a la construcción y performatización del cuerpo y la sexualidad. Y aunque, en ocasiones las mujeres también reproducen las representaciones sociales que les han sido asignadas, muchas de sus acciones cotidianas contribuyen a desestabilizar las estructuras jerárquicas, ganando espacios y reconocimiento en áreas que tradicionalmente les habían estado vetadas.
This thesis is about the way in which middle-class Pereira's women, between twenty and forty years old, signifying the social representations that have historically been built on their bodies and sexualities. For this purpose, the analysis does not focus just over the stigma that has been assigned to them as "easy women", but on the way in which this representation informs their processes of subjectivation, recognizing that each woman from her particular position (gender, class, ethnicity, age, territorial belonging, etc.) signifies them differentially. Their vital experiences become the main source of knowledge, because only themselves can account for the impacts of discreditings representations in their daily lives, as well as their agency in the processes of signification, which are not reduced to mere reproduction of stereotypes, as they also imply resistance and ruptures against them. The investigation allowed to identify that it is possible to transgress the hegemonic mandates through the decisions that women taken daily with respect to the construction and performatization of their bodies and sexualities. And although, sometimes also reproduce the social representations that have been assigned to them, many of their daily actions contribute to destabilizing hierarchical structures, gaining spaces and recognition in areas that had traditionally been banned from them. | |
