| Esta tesis analiza la forma en que se significó el feminicidio de Mara Castilla y cómo esto fue interpretado por actores de la esfera civil y no civil en México. Ambos procesos se dieron por medio de disputas. La primera en torno a la atribución de responsabilidad de los actores involucrados -Ricardo Alexis, Cabify y el gobierno- que fue presentada en la opinión pública a partir de los performances que algunos actores colectivos realizaron al dramatizar el dolor, es decir, pasarlo de lo individual a lo colectivo al señalar lo que sucedió, quién fue la víctima e identificar a los responsables. La segunda alrededor de la interpretación de los medios de comunicación, lo que se cristalizó en dos discursos que clasificaron el caso de forma diferenciada; el civil que clasificó el evento como feminicidio con referente a los derechos humanos de las mujeres, el anti civil como asesinato u homicidio evitando dicho referente. La tercera acerca de la manera en que esta disputa en las instituciones comunicativas influyó en las instituciones regulativas para la generación de acciones de reparación civil. En este caso de feminicidio el discurso civil no logró unificarse, la disputa surgida entre las significaciones de los dos discursos difuminó la reparación civil. El texto es un estudio cualitativo en el cual se analizan las narrativas registradas en los medios de comunicación, específicamente se consideraron las notas y columnas de opinión de los periódicos ya que en éstos se encuentran descripciones robustas sobre los actores y su discurso, las estructuras culturales y los significados públicos.
This dissertation analyses the manner in which signification occurred around the femicide of Mara Castilla and the interpretation of the event by actors both within and outside of the civilian sphere in Mexico. Both processes occurred as a consequence of disputes. The first of said disputes happened around the attribution of responsibility from those involved -Ricardo Alexis, Cabify, and the government- presented to public opinion through the performances of collective actors which have dramatised pain in a process of transforming it from an individual event to a collective one, and by signaling the components of the event – the identity of the victim and those responsible. The second dispute takes place around the media interpretation of the event, which is solidified within two sets of discourse that classify the case in differentiated messages; the first discourse was set within the realm of the civil, by classifying the event as a femicide as referred to the human rights of women, and the second within the realm of the anti-civil, pertaining to the neutral label of murder and homicide, but filtering out the gender referent of the concept of femicide. The third pertains to the manner in which the dispute in communication institutions influenced the regulatory institutions into the generation of actions of civil repair. In the specific case of this femicide, the civil discourse remained without unity, and the dispute originated from the significations of both realms of discourse blurred civil reparations. This text is a qualitative study in which analysis is centred on the narratives that take place in the media, specifically journalistic news notes and reports, as well as opinion pieces, within newspapers, which were the vehicle for more robust descriptions about those involved in the event and their discourse, cultural structures and the mechanics of public signification. | |
